With news as big as the killing of Osama Bin Laden, there are bound to be varying opinions as to whether the situation was handled properly. For conspiracy theorists, they might even wonder if anything actually happened at all.
People flocked to the White House, Ground Zero, and other places to stand in camaraderie with their fellow Americans, chanting “USA” and expressing a sense of pride for their nation.
Although the events of yesterday seemingly take some weight off the terrorist situation in the Middle East, is this the way things should have been handled? Did it all even happen yesterday, or was this old news that we were just now receiving to raise President Obama‘s approval ratings? Was Obama just trying to eff with Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice?

With the immediacy of social networking sites such as Facebook and twitter, it’d be tough to keep news of something this internationally massive under wraps. One man in Abbottabad, Pakistan, Sohaib Athar, was unknowingly live-tweeting the events leading up to the killing of Osama Bin Laden.
There are, however, some that don’t believe all the events went down as reported. One of these people might even be you. There’s been people saying that Bin Laden should have been given a proper trial. Some people think that this info was released at a convenient time to make President Obama look good. Others think it’s good that Bin Laden’s gone, but are worried that terrorism will be just as strong regardless.

We took calls on the Kevin & Bean show to get a sense of what our listeners thought of the whole situation.
- George wrote in saying that since the body of Bin Laden was buried in the ocean, the evidence is lost. Some photos will be staged to give everyone some sense of “proof.” He also said that all the audio and videos of Bin Laden are inconsistent and are most likely doubles of Bin Laden, who he believes to have already been dead, but that the info was withheld til a convenient time to make Obama look good.
- Paul wanted Bin Laden’s body to be dropped in the South Pole so that if Al Qaeda wanted to go pay homage, they would have to go to “the Earth’s ass.” No one would have to “ok” this since no one technically owns the South Pole.
- We had a caller named Ian declare that it’s “USA Day,” but also said that for every “yay, Osama’s dead” post that he’s seen, there’s a dozen more saying that it’s only going to spark retaliation.
- Ryan stated that he’s not a conspiracy theorist, but that the timeline doesn’t add up as to when Bin Laden died vs. the time that his body was buried.
- Eli said that the whole thing didn’t sit well with her. She’s a pacifist who doesn’t feel like it’s right to take a life. Celebrating a death is the wrong way to handle this.
There’s an opposing side to everything, and many feel that another death shouldn’t have been the way to handle the situation, even if it was Bin Laden that was killed.
